Our Bark Scouts Internship Programme is for people who arelooking for work experience in the animal care industry. 

Whether you are doing a course and need hours signed off, you want to get into the industry and need experience for your CV, or want to see if this industry is right for you. We have flexible options for people to join us, just inform us of your needs in the application form below. Main duties will be creating games and enrichment activities for dogs, shadowing staff in daycare areas, general cleaning and yard duties.

Bark Scout Interns will be able to request a written letter of recommendation to attach to their CV, which will outline the duties carried out, punctuality, and total hours worked.

-  Priority will be given to those who are currently attending animal related tertiary studies, who need work placement hours for their course.

      - Picking up poo
      - Raking bark / sand
      - Picking up rubbish
    • Basic group training
      - Group focus
      - Gate control
    • General day - to - day tasks
    • General care of animals in daycare
    • Shadowing staff in daycare areas
    • Creating enrichment activities 
    • Cuddling dogs
    • General cleaning 
    • Aiding training sessions, nail trims, assessments etc
    • Taking photos & videos
    • Help create tiktoks, reels, and other social media ideas
    • Learn about canine behaviour and training from our Senior Handlers
    • Assisting barkdays and daycare events
    • Hang out with dogs/puppies who need a 1on1 exposure session
