Both cats and dogs require a complete, balanced diet in order to thrive and reduce health risks, their bodies are designed to digest & thrive off raw food, no one cooks for wolves, foxes or other carnivorous predators so why would dogs need otherwise?
A full balance should be fed with a mix of 3-5 proteins per week and an egg 1-2 times per week.
A general baseline for a balanced raw food diet includes:
80% meats (for cats, 20% of this meat must be heart)
10% edible bone
5% liver
5% organ

Common issues
Sore joints, arthritis | Add Green lipped mussel or turmeric |

Upset stomach, loss of appetite | Feed tripe &/or bone broth (no salt) for a meal or 2 |

Risk of DCM | Increase heart in diet to 20% |
Chronic ear infections | Remove all grain, carbs and starches from diet, if continues begin elimination diet |
Anal gland issues | Increase fibre; pumpkin, flaxseeds, boiled carrot, apple |
Other helpful informatin
- Puppies and kittens require a higher fat diet until they reach their full body size (usually around 1 year, or up to 2 years for giant breeds). Fats and oils should be included in 10-20% of their diet
- Cats must have at least 20% heart in their diet. Unlike dogs, cats can't synthesize their own taurine, therefore it must be provided in their diet
- Salmon is the best source of omega 3
- Skipping feeding bones can increase the risk of bone and joint disease, especially in growing puppies. Feeding meat only is high in phosphorus and low in calcium
